Chapter 310 Damian Confronted
“I need a few days to myself. Please make sure I’m not disturbed,” she said quietly. “Also, could you do me a favor and bring some of my things over from the villa?”
She didn’t want to go back. Walking into that villa, the home they had once shared, would only drag up memories of the love that had filled every room.
She planned to stay at the studio for a while. It had everything she needed–a place to sleep, a kitchen–and she wouldn’t have to go out or risk running into anyone she wasn’t ready to face.
“Of course,” Diana agreed with a nod.
Isabel e made her way through the studio to the back, entered a private elevator and rode it up to the third floor. The space above was a spacious loft–style suite, over a thousand square feet with two bedrooms. Isabelle and Diana used it to rest during long workdays, and the rest of the team rarely had reason to go up there.

At the hospital, Damian sat propped up on the hospital bed in loose–fitting patient clothes, his face pale and lightly shadowed with stubble as he accepted the glass of water Louis handed him.
“I’m fine now. You should all head back,” he said, wanting nothing more than to be left alone.
When he had first woken up, Louis had already briefed him about Isabelle. His mind was in turmoil, and he had immediately called
Bruce.
If she returned to the villa, he wanted to know. If she tried to move/her things out, she was to be stopped–by any means necessary.
He felt like an outlaw, desperate and unprincipled.
Isabelle was the bride he was prepared to snatch and carry back to his fortress.
He was completely out of ideas.
Isabelle had never truly lost her temper with him before.
Outwardly bold and fearless, she was, at her core, gentle and poised with impeccable manners.
He’d witnessed her sharp tongue in arguments–her skills in that arena could outmatch his physical endurance—but he’d never been the target, and he had no desire to be.
Isabelle never argued with him. The opportunity had simply never arisen.
She was direct, considerate in everything she did, and handled every situation with flawless grace.
Damian was deeply afraid that those formidable talents would one day be turned against him. If that happened, he’d be utterly
defenseless.
So, he could think of only one solution–to keep her close, whatever it took.
No matter what, he couldn’t let her leave!
Louis had no patience for his son’s stubbornness. He knew the hospital room wouldn’t hold him–with Damian’s temperament, he’d undoubtedly find a way to slip out and go after Isabelle.
It was exactly what Louis would have done in his youth.
Back then, he’d been just as shamelessly persistent when courting Regina.
So, he left.
Rather than wasting his breath trying to talk sense into Damian, it was better to let him run headfirst into the consequences of his own actions.
Sure enough, as soon as Louis was gone, Damian immediately arranged for his own discharge. He refused to stay a moment longer.
He was still running a fever. Although it had come down slightly, his body burned with weakness and exhaustion. Combined with the inflamed welts on his back, the fever seemed to cling to him with renewed intensity.
