The Billionaire's True Heiress: From Fake Jewel to Real Crown novel Chapter 440

Freda seemed unsure. "But doesn’t she only go for good-looking guys?"

"I mean, to be honest, I only crushed on Oakley because he was hot."

Yep, she owned up to being that shallow.

"But the guy she likes now? He’s even better looking than Oakley," Shirley said, picturing Dane in her mind. He was better looking than York, easily outshined Oakley. Oakley had that whole celebrity vibe going for him, but this new guy? He looked like someone even celebrities would be jealous of.

"No way. You’ve got to be kidding me."

Freda was convinced Oakley was the best-looking guy on the planet, and the thought that someone could beat him? Impossible.

Shirley just shrugged. "Believe me or not, whatever… Oh, and my friend? She's really gorgeous too."

"I can tell. I didn’t even need a full-face look, her side profile says it all," Freda admitted.

"But you’re a beauty too, Shirley."

Shirley blushed a little at the compliment, but she didn’t let it get to her head. She was pretty, sure, but she knew she wasn’t on Claire’s level. Back then, she used to think, We’re both James family heiresses, so why couldn’t I keep up with Claire? Now that she knew Claire wasn’t technically a James, it actually made her feel okay admitting the truth. Claire just took after her real mom and dad—luckier genetics, maybe. What could she do? Looking at Pandora, it was obvious she must have been stunning when she was younger. She still looked amazing now.

"I gotta go, I’m almost at the airport," Shirley said, a little shy from being called pretty.

Freda, on the other hand, was already scrolling through travel blogs about Apex. She was dead set on going, even if she didn’t get to meet the mystery girl who saved Oakley. At least she’d finally get to meet up with Shirley. And who knew? Maybe hanging with Shirley would mean she’d eventually get close to Claire, too.

Right as Claire stepped off her flight, she sneezed twice in a row. Someone must have been thinking about her, but she had no idea who.

Shirley’s call came through. She said she was waiting in the parking lot already.
