The Billionaire's True Heiress: From Fake Jewel to Real Crown novel Chapter 464

“I wasn’t even talking about her,” Sophia said, flipping open her test paper as fast as she could. “I was just asking Claire about the last question from the exam.”

The math teacher turned to Claire. “Is that true, Claire?”

Cindy watched her, eyes narrowed.

“Yes,” Claire said, lying so smoothly you’d never guess.

Cindy’s jaw dropped. “Claire, I can’t believe you!”

“Cindy, can you please stop distracting us? We’re trying to study.”

Cindy went silent, turning away in a huff. She was stewing now, hurt and angry. How could Claire treat her like this after everything the James family had done for her? Cindy felt like she’d just been slapped in front of a crowd.

Claire didn’t have time to worry about Cindy’s drama. She was way too busy. School had been nonstop, and as soon as she finally had a half-day off, she drove straight out to the countryside to see Pandora.

Well, it wasn’t just to see her. Hale’s house was hers now, and she liked using the place whenever she made her ointments and creams. She still had some of her homemade scar treatment stashed there, and she figured she could mail it out to Cabinda right away.

As soon as Pandora saw the little scar on Claire’s face, she frowned. “Didn’t you just go to Cabinda for a competition? How did you end up fighting with someone?”

Pandora had always been elegant, always carried herself with grace, and as a doctor she hated the idea of a permanent scar spoiling Claire’s face.

“It’s nothing. That’s why I’m here. I came to grab some of the ointment.”

“It wasn’t a fight. There was a small car accident,” Claire explained.

But Pandora wasn’t buying it. She could always tell when Claire was hiding the worst of it. “Don’t pretend like it’s no big deal. I know you. You only ever talk about the good stuff and keep the rest quiet.”

“Come on, tell me what really happened.”

Claire sighed, giving in, because she’d never been able to hide anything from Pandora. “Okay… so here’s the real story…” She gave the quick, edited version about rescuing a famous actor from trouble.
