The Billionaire's True Heiress: From Fake Jewel to Real Crown novel Chapter 472

Alva pulled his collar up around his neck, glancing sideways. It honestly seemed like Norris was giving Claire way too much attention. Was the old guy actually crushing on her or what?

"Claire, don't you think Norris is being a little too nice to you? Isn't it kind of weird?" Alva said, lowering his voice. "Do you think he secretly likes you?"

Claire immediately started coughing, practically choking on her own saliva. She couldn’t believe Alva was serious about this.

"You’re reading way too much into it," Claire wheezed when she finally stopped coughing.

"But he’s always watching you," Alva insisted. "He’s on edge whenever you’re around, and if any guy comes even a little close, Norris shoots them this scary look, like he’s about to interrogate them."

Claire stared at him for a second before she laughed. "Maybe he just thinks of himself as one of those overprotective fathers. Isn’t there a saying, 'Once a teacher, always a parent'? He’s probably just worried someone’s going to corrupt his precious student."

"An overprotective dad, huh?" Alva thought about it for a moment, recalling Norris’s suspicious glare. "I guess that kind of fits."

Later, when Alva was out of earshot, Norris caught Claire alone. "So, what did that kid say to you?"

"He thinks you’re secretly in love with me," Claire grinned, trying not to crack up again.

Norris looked exasperated. "That kid talks nonsense. He’s not even as decent as Dane."

Claire blinked innocently. "So you think my fiancé is better looking?"

Norris scowled. "You’re still young. You’re not in a rush. Before you get married, you can look around... If you find someone you like more than Dane, just break off the engagement."

Even though Dane was an impressive guy, the three Churchill brothers had never approved of him. They made sure to let anyone interested in Claire know it too.
