"I know you’re busy with your final exams right now, so let’s not rush anything. Once you’re done, you’ll have all the time in the world to think about it."
"Owen isn’t doing much these days, anyway. He can run errands for you or help out with the small stuff."
"Thank you, that’s really thoughtful." Honestly, Claire hadn’t planned to actually produce the scar cream so soon. She just made it for fun—something she could share with her family or give away as gifts.
Making money wasn’t the point at all. She had enough already, so turning the scar cream into a business had never really crossed her mind. But since Karla brought it up... well, the idea didn’t sound impossible. With Claire’s skills and The Churchill Family’s connections, it was almost guaranteed to work.
Karla wanting Owen to have something meaningful to do just made sense, too. Technically, Owen always seemed busy, investing here and there, but he never really committed to anything stable. To the older generations, he looked like he was drifting without a plan or any serious ambition.
Claire understood Karla’s concern. She agreed to the proposal without hesitation.
Seeing how quickly Claire said yes, Karla took it as a sign that Claire genuinely trusted her. There was no way she could afford to mess this up.
Karla didn’t waste any time and called her son over.
"Mom, what’s going on? Aren’t you always super busy? Aren’t you heading to the office after lunch?"
"The office can wait. I want to talk to you first," Karla said, leaving out the part where she mostly just wanted to find her son some real work.
She explained, "Claire has a formula for a new scar cream. It really works. I tested it myself on Oakley. If we put it into production, it could help so many people."
"But she can’t trust just anyone with the formula. If you help her, you two can start something together."
"Claire’s pretty independent. She’s not the type to just take family money. So, maybe you can pool some funds, help her set up the company, and take care of the day-to-day stuff. What do you think?"
