"She does!"
Mary and Barry said it almost in unison.
The expert was instantly dumbfounded.
"She's so young. How could she possibly have gotten a Medical License?"
The expert's breakdown was exactly what Mary had expected.
Mary herself had only found out about Claire's Medical License after the fact.
It was the last thing Hale had done for his beloved student.
Claire had been granted a special exception to take the exam.
Hale had pulled strings he never even used for himself just for the girl, showing more dedication than even Mary, her official mentor.
Truth be told, Mary only had the advantage of being her grandmother; otherwise, she might not have been able to win Claire over from Hale.
Hale had raised and trained Claire as his one and only student.
"The Medical License isn't strictly age-bound; exceptions are made for extraordinary talents," Barry answered.
It was obvious he was annoyed by the expert's constant questioning of Claire.
Barry's high regard for Claire was crystal clear.
The expert choked on his words. He knew perfectly well that special talents could get age restrictions waived.
But that was usually for traditional practitioners. To get an age waiver in modern medicine, you had to be an absolute genius.
"As it happens, Claire has obtained her Medical License for both modern and traditional medicine," Mary added.
This made the expert feel his face flush with embarrassment.
He hadn't expected such a prodigy to actually exist. At first, he genuinely believed Mary was just trying to elevate her own family.
"Let Claire join the consultation first. If we confirm that she can assist Mary and increase the success rate, then she goes into the operating room."
"Oh, right. We still need to discuss this with the family," Vice President Sterling said, making the final call but nearly forgetting the most crucial step.
"Although you are a family member, Mary, you aren't the patient's parents. Once the surgical plan is finalized, we still need Latham and Octavia to consent."
Vice President Sterling hoped Mary would understand.
Mary understood perfectly well, but she had her own concerns.
