Chapter 117 I Already Got What I Wanted
He grew angrier as he spoke. “Just because we were taking care of Yvonne and missed Mom’s third anniversary, she’s had it in for us. I don’t know how she latched onto the Johnson family’s golden boy, but Sean was even protecting her tonight. She interfered when we were talking to Vector, almost costing us that partnership, and now she’s completely blocked us from even talking about this one. How can she be so vicious?”
Thinking about tonight, he gritted his teeth, wishing he could tear Tracy apart. Her behavior tonight had really stirred up a lot of hate. Now, she had thoroughly offended both him and his brother. Tracy could forget about ever coming back to the Xander family.
Yvonne tugged on Chase’s arm and said meekly “Chase, do you think Tracy has some misunderstanding about us? Is that why she’s doing all these awful things? When Linda called, I really couldn’t hear clearly. She probably thinks I intentionally didn’t tell you, so she’s angry and lashing out at us. It’s just a small thing. We just need to explain it to her. I’m sure she won’t blame us.”
Tracy only had these few tricks, always backstabbing people. Yvonne wasn’t worried. She was used to countering every move; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to secure her footing in the Xander family.
Listening to the two siblings sing the same tune. Jared wearily rubbed the space between his eyebrows and sank onto the sofa.
He sighed. “Sean wasn’t here to talk business tonight. He came to let Tracy vent.”
Sean had also said they were only able to meet him at all thanks to Tracy, but Jared left that part out. He felt it was unnecessary.
Saying it would only make them think he was incompetent and had to rely on his sister just to see Sean. It was too humiliating.
“What?” Chase stared at Jared in shock. “Are you serious?”
The Johnson family heir was actually helping Tracy vent? That was unbelievable. If that was true, didn’t that mean Tracy’s status had just shot up?
With her vindictive nature, anyone who had crossed her was in for a bad end. Tonight was just a warning, to tell them not to provoke her again, or she would disown them all. If they angered her, they would be the next ones dragged away.
That madwoman was just bullying people with borrowed power, but there wasn’t a single thing they could do about it. Her backer was the Johnson family’s golden boy, after all. Who in all of Northport would dare to disrespect Sean? Anyone who offended him had to be ready to go bankrupt at any moment.
