"Amelia said she wants to treat me to dinner, and I thought it'd be nicer if we all went together. So, I wanted to ask if you're free. How about the three of us going? We can celebrate our project going well lately."
She made sure not to mention that she was the one who suggested it. Instead, she used Amelia as a "shield," which made it sound more natural.
Harrison's gaze rested on her face for a few seconds, as if he saw through her little scheme. The corner of his mouth lifted slightly, then his usual cold look returned.
"Sorry. I already have plans."
"Who are you meeting? A man or a woman?"
That last question was the real point.
He simply replied, "Secret."
"You just love acting mysterious. Hmph." Josie stomped her foot and stormed out angrily.
Harrison watched her leave. She looked angry. He couldn't help smiling and shaking his head.
As soon as Josie left the office, she turned and saw Amelia waiting outside. Amelia was sitting there, scrolling on her phone and smiling sweetly. It was obvious she was texting someone.
"Amelia, are you trying to provoke me? Did you look in the mirror? Do you see how sugary your smile is?"
The contrast was huge.
"Is it really that obvious?" Amelia asked shyly, then added, "Is Mr. Ramley coming with us?"
"He already has plans. And who it is? Secret."
Just thinking about it made Josie mad. She grabbed Amelia's hand and walked off. "Forget him. We'll go by ourselves!"
The two of them went to a restaurant they often visited.
It was a casual bistro with a nice atmosphere. The food looked delicate and there were many choices.
Josie especially loved coming here. Every time, she picked the table with the best view and the best photos.
"I'm paying today, so I'm ordering a lot. I'm going to enjoy this meal properly."
"Okay, no problem. As long as you're happy." Amelia knew her well. Josie was definitely about to do something unusual again.
In this area, Amelia always admitted she couldn't beat Josie. Josie had endless ideas.
Once all the dishes were served, Josie immediately took out her phone and snapped many pretty pictures.
She even took selfies holding the food with her eyes closed in a very artistic pose.
She was naturally beautiful, so every shot looked good.
Someone with her looks didn't need filters.
After editing, Josie posted a story and deliberately tagged Harrison.
