The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy) novel Chapter 694

After hanging up, Esmond used Amelia's phone to send the location to Jeremy, telling him to show up at the designated time.

Then, Esmond had people guard Amelia while he personally called that man to report the situation.

"Everything is proceeding according to plan. I'll arrive at the scheduled time. Once we confirm Jeremy has brought the formula, I'll make my appearance."

The mastermind on the other end sounded utterly calm, as if every step had already been calculated.

He naturally wasn't worried about his identity being exposed to the two of them.

Once the formula was in his hands, before sending them off to the underworld as a pair of doomed lovers, letting them know who he was would count as his final act of mercy.

The appointed time arrived quickly, and Jeremy showed up right on schedule.

Worried they might hurt Amelia, he didn't dare bring anyone with him. He came alone, just as instructed.

"Well, well. Long time no see, Mr. Curran. Still riding high, I see."

When Esmond saw Jeremy dressed in black athletic wear and a black tactical jacket, he repeated the same line he'd used on Amelia earlier.

"Tch. I just saw you on the news a couple of days ago, acting all polished and respectable while giving that finance interview."

Jeremy's response was practically identical to Amelia's earlier reply.

Esmond froze.

These two shameless lovers really are the perfect match.

Even their insults are word-for-word the same.

It's so damn infuriating!

Esmond took a deep breath and decided not to argue with them.

Looking at the tall, striking man in front of him, he got straight to the point.

"Where is it? You brought it, right?"

"Of course, I brought it. But what makes you think I'd hand it over immediately?"

Jeremy wasn't an idiot. Seeing the woman he loved tied to a chair had nearly torn him apart.

He'd wanted nothing more than to rush over and smash this bastard's head in.

He forced down the rage surging in his chest, his gaze sharp enough to cut as it pinned Esmond's smug face. He spoke slowly, word by word.

"Let Amelia go. Bring her to me. Then you'll get what you want. Otherwise, you're not getting anything today."

Jeremy's voice was icy, absolute, leaving no room for negotiation.

"If I let her go now, you won't hand it over anyway. I need the formula first."

Esmond obviously didn't trust him and tried coaxing, "Relax. I may be despicable, but I keep my word."

"Save it. If Amelia isn't standing beside me, you'll never see that formula."

Esmond watched them like a hawk and reminded them sharply, "You got her back. Where's the formula?"

"Did you forget our deal? You call out the man behind you. Then we talk."

"What..."

Esmond was infuriated again by Jeremy's confident tone.

He couldn't understand where this confidence came from. They were surrounded. Their lives were the ones at stake.

What gave them the right to stay so calm and even issue demands?

Before Esmond could speak again, the figure hidden in the shadows finally stepped forward.

"You wanted to draw me out, didn't you? Well, here I am. Surprised? Shocked?"

The mastermind not only revealed himself, but he also did it with a smiling face and a tone so smug it practically invited a punch.

Jeremy and Amelia turned at the sound of his voice.

The moment they saw that familiar figure, both of them changed expressions at the same time.

Especially Amelia. She stared at the man before her—the one she knew so well, the one she had once regarded as someone she owed deeply.

It was him.

The ultimate mastermind pulling the strings from behind the scenes … was actually him.
