The IVF Secret That Shook a Dynasty novel Chapter 448

Vivica finished tying his tie, her gaze drifting up to his sharp, well-defined jawline and the thin lips that had tempted her for so long. With the epitome of male beauty right in front of her, it would be a crime not to steal a kiss.

At the thought of what she was about to do, a sly smile touched her lips. She grabbed his tie with one hand, pulling him down as she tilted her face up to meet his.

She expected to catch him off guard. But to her surprise, Joseph had already seen through her intentions. As she leaned in, he smoothly turned his handsome face just enough to avoid their noses bumping. The kiss landed perfectly, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Vivica’s eyes flew open in astonishment. Seeing the amusement in his gaze, she instantly understood that even if she hadn't made the first move, he would have kissed her anyway. The thought had already been on his mind.

Realizing this, the shy part of her wanted to retreat.

But now that he finally had her, Joseph had no intention of letting her escape. As she pulled back, a large hand cupped the back of her head, both protecting it and preventing her from breaking the kiss too soon. His other hand quickly braced against the raised headboard, supporting his weight.

Vivica’s initial surprise and shyness melted into a sweet smile. She decided to throw caution to the wind, her hand on his tie moving to wrap around his neck as she deepened the kiss.

Joseph chuckled to himself. It seemed she was becoming increasingly captivated by his charms, growing bolder by the day. Here she was, initiating a kiss in a hospital room where someone could walk in at any moment.

Unfortunately, he was in a hurry and had to leave. Besides, her body wasn't ready for anything more. So, this rare, bold move from her could only end with a kiss.

Panting slightly, they finally pulled apart a moment later. Vivica’s eyes were glistening, like glass beads submerged in spring water, and her cheeks were flushed a vibrant red that outshone the sunset.

“Just a little longer. We’ll be discharged tomorrow and go home,” Joseph murmured, his voice husky as he tried to soothe her.

Vivica shot him a playful look. “Even when we get home, it’s a no. I’m still dizzy…”

Joseph, however, was unfazed. He straightened up calmly and tightened his tie. “Next time you want to kiss, just tell me. Don’t yank on my tie. It chokes me.”

Mortified, Vivica could only say, “Just go already!”

Joseph chuckled. But before he could turn to leave, the phone on the table began to ring. He picked it up, and his expression darkened slightly as he read the screen.

“You get some rest. I’m leaving,” he said gently, silencing the call. “I’ll be back late tonight, so I won’t disturb you. I’ll just go straight home.”

Vivica nodded. “I know. Don’t drink too much.”

Joseph agreed and turned to leave the room. Once he was a safe distance down the hall, he finally answered the call. “Hello, Mr. Smith…”
