"Mom, Vivica is here! Vivica is here!" Raymond shouted before he even stepped foot into the room.

Cheryl turned around, and seeing Vivica walking in behind her son, she immediately stood up to excitedly welcome her. "Vivica, you finally made it. I'm your aunt. Hurry, come see your mother. She's been waiting for this day for far too long."

As she spoke, Cheryl grabbed Vivica by the arm and pulled her toward the hospital bed.

"Hillary, Hillary, look! This is Vivica, your daughter, Vivica. She's here!"

Cheryl was trembling with excitement. The medical staff gathered around the bed glanced back and immediately parted to make way.

Vivica was instantly pushed to the bedside, where she got her first clear look at her biological mother lying there. She was terribly emaciated. Years of chronic illness had turned her hair entirely white, making her look significantly older than Cheryl. She had an oxygen tube secured under her nose, IV lines hooked into the back of her hand, and several medical monitors beeping steadily by the bed. The head of the bed was elevated, and she leaned back weakly, her breathing faint and shallow.

But even in that state, upon hearing her sister say her daughter had arrived, her eyes instantly widened, and a profound joy washed over her face.

"Vivica... Vivica..." Hillary murmured. Her gaze locked onto the young woman being pushed forward by the crowd, and she weakly raised a trembling hand.

But Vivica just stared at her, her expression blank, offering little to no reaction.

This scene was entirely different from what she had imagined. She had fully intended to hate her.
