The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 55

When Petty woke up, sunlight was already pouring in through the window. She tried to sit up, but a sharp headache hit her, forcing her to press her hand to her forehead and flop back onto the bed.

If she hadn't had her drinks at Galen's bar, she would have suspected the alcohol was fake. Still, how did she end up in her room at Misty Vale?

She remembered Amy dragging her to the restroom after she got drunk last night... Petty rubbed her temples, trying to piece things together. Besides Amy, she could barely recall seeing Franco here and there, but everything else was a blur. She had no idea what they did or talked about.

She checked herself out of habit, but her body felt normal and she was still wearing the same clothes from yesterday. Lying on her back, she let her mind wander for a while, then licked her dry lips and reached for her phone to check the time.

Noon already. At least it was Saturday.

Right then, the bedroom door creaked open. Susan peeked in, her face brightening as soon as she saw Petty awake. She pushed the door open wider.

“Petty, you’re up. How are you feeling?”

Petty was used to headaches like this and never made a fuss.

“I’m fine,” she said, sitting up. “Was it Franco who brought me here?”

Susan nodded. “Yes, but he left after bringing you back to your room.”

He left?

Petty tossed off the covers and got out of bed, barefoot. She must’ve kicked off her socks in her sleep. Susan noticed right away and hurried after her.

“Petty, put on your slippers. The floor’s cold.”

But Petty was already moving too fast for Susan to keep up. She walked straight out as if she had something urgent on her mind.
