Stella turned her head toward Charlotte, her eyes catching the lights and reflecting them back. “The design looks kind of like… a girl’s hand.”
Shirley blinked, keeping her voice low as she guessed, “A girl’s hand?”
Exactly. Five slender fingers, the ring finger gently curved, the wrist traced out like lace. From where they sat, it really did look like a bride’s hand dressed in delicate mesh gloves, just waiting quietly to exchange rings with her groom.
Romantic didn’t even cover it.
Of course it’d be Anthony, the only guy who could ever talk Charlotte into considering an early wedding.
Charlotte watched the bright formation in the sky. Her eyes narrowed a little, and the tiniest hint of a smile played at her lips.
A proposal, huh? She couldn’t help but let out a small, amused sound. Talk about dramatic.
Since the sea was right in the middle of Cabinda, the drones floating above were visible from almost anywhere in the city. It took less than five minutes before pictures and videos of the “drone proposal” totally flooded the internet.
Whoever was proposing, they weren’t holding back.
[Who’s the genius behind this? This is unreal!]
[That’s gotta be over ten thousand drones. Just getting all those together is a flex on its own!]
[Did she say yes? If she didn’t, pick me instead!!!]
After the hand appeared, a new cluster of drones slowly lifted up from the other side of the sky. They grouped themselves into a glimmering ring and drifted toward the hand, aiming right for the ring finger.
Around the barbecue table, everybody stared upward, mouths hanging open, eyes wide, not even pretending to eat. Except for Charlotte, who was still calmly working her way through her chicken wings.
