The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1632

The phone hit the floor with a sharp clatter and the image on the screen flashed clear as day in front of Dorothy’s eyes.

A girl’s photo?

Dorothy froze, her instincts on high alert. She was just about to bend down for a closer look when Andrew quickly swooped in, grabbing his phone with shaky hands. He looked rattled, caught off guard.

“Who’s that girl on your lock screen?” Dorothy’s voice was icy, her stare unwavering as she looked at him.

She hadn’t seen it up close but even at a glance, she could tell—the girl in the picture definitely wasn’t Pandora. A girl who made it to wallpaper status? There was no way their relationship was simple.

“She’s a celebrity,” Andrew muttered, already slipping his phone safely into his pocket. He grabbed his backpack from the couch, not bothering to look back, and disappeared upstairs.

Celebrity?

Dorothy watched him go. She stood rooted in place, the blood draining from her face until she felt almost cold. She didn’t follow celebrity news much, but she knew enough. The girl in the photo had her hair in a high ponytail, looked young, and dressed like any normal kid from an average family.

Was Andrew really drawn in by some random girl? Someone unremarkable enough to risk everything, even turning down Pandora? The thought made Dorothy furious. How could he be so foolish?

She couldn’t shake it off. Her thoughts twisted tighter with every second and she whipped out her phone, dialing one of her people. “Run a full background check on everyone around Andrew, now.”

As she spoke, Daniel walked through the door, setting down his things just in time to overhear her. His brow pinched in annoyance and his voice was steady, almost tired. “Andrew’s nineteen, not a child. He can choose his own friends.”
