The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1675

“Did Patricia just say her god-granddaughter is Shirley?” someone whispered, as if daring to say what everyone else was thinking. The silent conference room burst into noise in an instant.

“No way. This is Patricia Blair we’re talking about,” someone scoffed, voice dripping with disdain. “The Blair family is as high as you can get in Cabinda. Someone like Shirley couldn’t even stand near their door, let alone be a god-granddaughter.”

“Yeah, I don’t think it’s Shirley either,” a reporter chimed in, lowering their voice. “Patricia only said she was standing up for her god-granddaughter. There are so many scholarship girls up there. Maybe one of them is actually her relative.”

After the whole school scandal, now Shirley had managed to get on the Blair family’s bad side too. Trouble seemed to be stacking up around her.

Dorothy slipped into the room and took the seat next to Andrew, her eyes fixed on Shirley. The pale look on Shirley’s face made Dorothy’s smile even more satisfied.

All these reporters came for the drama. Now, Andrew would see who Shirley really was. And soon, everyone in Eldoria would know there was this greedy, shameless girl from Cabinda.

Across the room, Karan and Pandora settled into a quiet corner, both looking pretty pleased with themselves. Pandora glanced around and, not seeing Charlotte anywhere, smirked. “Thought she was supposed to be so tough. Look at all this happening to Shirley, and she’s just disappeared.”

Karan crossed her arms and nudged her glasses up with one finger. Her dark eyes sparkled with mockery. “Charlotte’s got her own problems right now. I doubt she has any energy left for anyone else.”

“Fair point,” Pandora giggled, covering her mouth, before pulling out her phone. Her screen filled with headline after headline about “Charlotte and the older man.” Some people online were even wondering if Charlotte’s head was wired differently. She was gorgeous, rich, powerful… with tons of options. But she had to go after a guy old enough to be her dad?

Photos were everywhere. People couldn’t wait to see how she was going to talk her way out of this mess. Even if they couldn’t destroy her completely, at least her reputation would take a hit.

If she couldn’t clear her name, all this dirt would stick to her forever. What would Andrew think? Would he even believe her anymore?

As Shirley was led back onto the stage, she glanced in Andrew’s direction. He looked furious, half getting out of his chair.

Patricia put a steady hand on his arm and leaned over, her voice stern. “Sit down. You getting involved won’t help anything right now.”

Andrew’s status would only drag Shirley deeper into the spotlight. She was so young, so unprepared for this kind of chaos. The reporters in the room were already buzzing, hungry for clicks and willing to write anything if it brought attention.
