“Hug me.”
Charlotte offered a faint, teasing smile. She held onto him for two seconds before pulling away and heading into the grand hall.
Watching her retreating back, Anthony's lips curved upward, the deep affection in his eyes growing even heavier.
Inside the hall.
The academic leaders from every major medical university had gathered, exchanging polite, networking pleasantries.
The atmosphere was chaotic and buzzing with energy.
“Charlotte! Over here!”
The moment Glenn saw her walk in, he excitedly waved her over, his voice booming with unmistakable pride as he introduced her to the crowd. “Everyone, this is the elite prodigy of the Department of Traditional Medicine, the absolute pride of Kingswood University.”
“And, of course, one of the official candidates for the Presidency of the International Medical Alliance.”
“Ah, so this is the young woman who traveled all the way to Apex and discovered the cure for the sleeping sickness.”
Hearing the introduction, the surrounding academics responded with bright smiles. “Charlotte, you are truly remarkable. Barely twenty years old and already making history in the medical field.”
“If my memory serves me right, you are also the highly renowned ‘Black’ in the medical world, aren't you?”
“That's her! That's her!”
Glenn held his head incredibly high, radiating absolute smugness.
“Charlotte is certainly exceptional. However, her opponent in today's selection is none other than Asclepius.”
Before Glenn could bask in the glory any longer, Vinson suddenly stepped out of the crowd, his voice dripping with snide condescension. “I just wonder if Charlotte actually has the confidence to win.”
Charlotte remained silent. She stood casually to the side, her expression profoundly indifferent.
At Vinson's words, Glenn's smile completely froze, replaced by sharp embarrassment.
The other academic leaders turned their gazes toward Charlotte. Though they kept polite smiles plastered on their faces, their eyes gleamed with hypocrisy and a hunger for drama.
Kingswood University was a top-tier institution, sure.
But compared to the elite, globally recognized medical universities present today, their ranking was noticeably lower.
