The Overlord remained silent, merely shooting a pointed look at the subordinate beside him.
"Yes, sir. We'll monitor it closely," the subordinate acknowledged.
On the other side of the island.
Tansy had changed into a maid's uniform, slipping past the guards' surveillance to sneak into Hector's room.
The little boy had just woken up and was staring at his mother in a sleepy daze.
"Miss Darnell."
Upon seeing her, Elena, the loyal nanny, quickly shut the door. "Why are you here?"
Elena had been a servant to Tansy's mother and had helped raise Tansy since childhood.
Though they lived under her father's strict surveillance, the two of them had been secretly prepping a plan to send Hector to Cabinda.
"There's been a change of plans."
Tansy hurried over, frantically helping a bewildered Hector into his clothes. Her eyes were red. "Baby, Mommy is sending you to see Daddy soon."
"Daddy and your grandparents are wonderful people. Once you get there, you have to be a good boy and listen to them, understand?"
"Mommy..."
Hector tilted his beautiful little face up, staring at her in confusion. "Is Mommy coming too?"
"Mommy..." Tansy's voice choked on the word. She fought desperately to hold back her tears, her tone turning hoarse. "Mommy will come later."
"Miss Darnell..."
Elena was panicking as she helped pack their things. "Didn't we agree to send the young master away on the day of your wedding?"
Her wedding was only a week away.
"That was the original plan..." Tansy bit down hard on her lip, using the sharp pain to keep herself grounded. "But right now, Hector's father and aunt are in my father's hands."
"I can't let him use Donald and Lottie to commit those disgusting crimes."
Doing so would be no different from utterly destroying them and The Gates Family.
"But..." Elena frowned, her face etched with worry. "Moving the plan up is far too risky."
Tansy pressed her lips together, her gaze shifting toward the window.
Today was the final window for smuggling the goods through customs, meaning the majority of their manpower had been dispatched to the port.
Therefore.
