The air in the chopper felt razor-thin.
Anthony gripped the binoculars, his knuckles turning white as he watched his girl desperately dismantling the bomb.
If she couldn't save them, she wouldn't leave.
"Give me a parachute!"
Anthony threw the binoculars aside and began fiercely strapping the gear onto his body.
"Boss..."
Under these circumstances, Hans didn't dare voice his objections.
Because he knew the truth.
Jumping down now meant Anthony would likely plummet straight into a fiery explosion.
But if he didn't go...
Making him watch his wife burn alive was a cruelty he couldn't survive either.
Perhaps.
Anthony would rather be with her, in life or in death.
"Listen closely," Anthony said, his voice terrifyingly calm and lucid as he fastened the buckles. "If we don't make it, apologize to both our families."
"As for the kids... when they're a little older, have Newell train them."
Although Newell was a nuisance who constantly prayed for their marital downfall so he could swoop in.
Ultimately, he was a phenomenal mentor.
With the kids in his care, Lottie would be at peace.
Hans's throat tightened painfully. He couldn't utter a single syllable.
Was his boss leaving his final will and testament?
Far below, amidst the chaos.
As if sensing his presence, Charlotte suddenly looked up toward the helicopter.
Though she couldn't see him, she knew Anthony was up there, watching her.
And she knew he wouldn't... blame her.
"Donald!"
Watching the seconds bleed away, Tansy was on the verge of a complete breakdown. "Pull her away!"
Thirty seconds left.
Donald grabbed Lottie, trying to pull her off, but the girl fought him with terrifying strength. She wouldn't budge.
Twenty seconds...
Ten seconds...
Ten...
Nine...
Seeing the time vanishing, Tansy summoned every ounce of her remaining strength, shoved Charlotte backward, and threw herself out of the cabin toward the water.
At almost the exact same second.
Anthony secured his chute and leaped out of the helicopter.
