They interacted so little that Yvonne had been surprised Tamara came today.
"I don't know, I just feel... uncomfortable." Yvonne paused, lowering her head dejectedly. She looked quiet and elegant, nothing like the person who had bared her claws at Tamara moments ago.
"I heard from my mom and my brother that she took care of me while I was in a coma. Logically, I should be grateful. But for some reason, the moment I see her, I feel a gut-level resistance. I usually wouldn't say things like that, but seeing her just now made me lose control."
Leilani's eyes flickered, but she didn't comment.
Yvonne sighed. "Forget it. She's going to be my sister-in-law anyway. Even if I dislike her, I have to bear with it."
The wedding was on the agenda. Her mother seemed to want it to happen as soon as possible. Tamara becoming her sister-in-law seemed set in stone.
After a moment of silence, Leilani spoke softly. "Yvonne, if one day... you remember something important, please make sure to tell me."
After overhearing the conversation between Gloria and Milford last time, Yvonne knew what Leilani was referring to. Thinking of how Leilani had been wrongly accused of hurting her for years, Yvonne grabbed Leilani's hand, her eyes firm. "Leilani, I will definitely remember! I won't let you be wronged anymore!"
Leilani was stunned. Her heart warmed, and she whispered, "Okay."
...
Elsewhere, after Milford took Tamara away, she asked him out.
