The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 522

Seeing Callahan walking away in such a frantic rush, Dante forcefully struck his cane against the floor and quickly hurried after his grandson. Letty followed closely behind, her face painted with overwhelming worry.

"Callahan! Wait a minute!" Letty called out, stopping her son in his tracks.

Callahan's footsteps halted. As he turned around, the icy fury on his face receded just a fraction, but the frantic anxiety pooling in his eyes was impossible to hide.

"What on earth is going on with Leilani? Did something happen to her?" Letty asked.

Taking in the deep lines of worry on both his mother and grandfather's faces, Callahan forcefully suppressed his own rising panic, keeping his voice deliberately low and steady. "Grandpa, Mom, don't panic. Leilani isn't the type to break a promise for no reason. She might have just been delayed by a last-minute emergency."

But Dante and Letty knew exactly how level-headed and reliable Leilani was. For a girl like her to just vanish without a trace was terrifying. Their minds naturally gravitated toward the worst-case scenarios: that she had encountered insurmountable trouble, or worse—she had been kidnapped.

The moment that dark thought surfaced, Dante's brow knit together fiercely, and he slammed his cane against the marble floor. "That girl is always meticulous! Even if an emergency arose, she would have let someone know! What about her phone? Is it off?"

Callahan's jaw visibly tightened. "I can't reach her right now."

Letty grabbed her son's arm, her chest tightening. "Could she be in danger? She's just a young woman..."

Callahan himself suspected that Leilani might have been abducted, but with his grandfather's advanced age, voicing that theory would only send the old man into a dangerous panic. On top of that, tonight was the Langley Group's biggest corporate gala. Since Callahan was forced to abandon his hosting duties to search for Leilani, Dante and Letty had to stay behind to hold the fort.

Callahan firmly grasped his mother's trembling hand, his grip offering a grounding strength. "Mom, don't overthink this. You and Grandfather need to stay here and manage the guests. I'm going to investigate this right now. I promise you, I will not let anything happen to her."

His eyes were dark and intense, but he consciously softened his tone. "Once the event is handled, both of you head home and get some rest. The absolute second I have news, I will let you know."
