The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 561

Finally, Leilani let out a sigh. "Alright, but you have to promise me one thing. You must let me make all the arrangements."

Payton chuckled softly. "Deal. We'll do it your way." He paused. "So, we're set to leave in a month?"

"Yes," Leilani replied, glancing at her calendar. "I'll keep an eye on things and get everything ready. Once we're good to go, I'll let you know."

"Sounds good," Payton said decisively. "I'll start making my own arrangements on this end."

After hanging up, Leilani sat motionless, clutching her phone for a long time.

...

Meanwhile, at a suburban villa.

Payton put the phone down and turned to Abel, who was standing in the shadows. "Did you hear all that?"

Abel nodded, pressing his lips together before hesitating. "But, Payton, Dr. Sloan made a fair point. With your health condition..."

"I'm not going to die," Payton waved him off. He rolled his wheelchair over to the desk, pulled open a drawer, and took out a cold, gleaming handgun. "Go get ready. We're leaving in a month."

Abel looked like he wanted to argue, but ultimately just nodded. "Understood."

Payton ran his fingers over the gun, his eyes dark and unreadable. After all these years, it was finally time to settle the score.

Her voice spiked so loudly that several people at neighboring tables turned to look.

Realizing she had drawn a crowd, Judie quickly lowered her voice, still looking utterly shocked. "Didn't they just get married a few months ago? She knocked up that fast?"

Seeing how Milford had treated Tamara lately, Judie assumed the two would be filing for divorce any day now. To think Tamara was actually pregnant... that woman must be feeling incredibly smug right now.

Yvonne felt just as helpless about the situation. Although Gloria had specifically emphasized that Tamara had manipulated Milford when venting her frustrations, Yvonne—as a woman—found it absurd that Milford remained completely unguarded around Tamara despite her countless lies. So, when she heard the news, her primary reactions were speechlessness and exasperation.

With a heavy sigh, Yvonne stabbed her fork into a piece of cake. Within seconds, she had mashed the dessert into an unrecognizable pile. "They've been married for a few months, so a pregnancy isn't out of the ordinary. But my mom told me that Tamara got pregnant behind my brother's back. When Milford found out, they got into a huge fight, and Tamara almost had a miscarriage during the scuffle. Now, my family's house is an absolute war zone."

Gloria hadn't given Yvonne the exact details of the argument. The gist of it was that ever since Tamara married into the Sherwood family, they hadn't enjoyed a single day of peace.
