The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 564

Leilani picked up her coffee cup and casually laid out the truth. "The Sloan family is mostly surviving on life support provided by the Sherwoods right now. Clive probably realized his career was hitting a dead end and decided to just embrace the downward spiral."

Clive's simple-minded logic and immaturely naive thought process had always been incredibly easy to read.

Judie shook her head. "If you ask me, his mindset is almost impressive. Not everyone's spine is that flexible."

In truth, very few people spiraled out of control quite as spectacularly as Clive once they crossed their moral boundaries.

Hooking up with one sugar mama was one thing, but continuously frequenting red-light districts with a rotation of wealthy women was a whole different level.

Leilani shot her a side-eye. "Why are you keeping such close tabs on him?"

Judie immediately threw her hands up defensively. "Hey, don't get the wrong idea! I'm definitely not interested in him. It's purely my fiery soul for gossip at work!"

She paused, lowering her voice again. "But... I did hear that he's been schmoozing a woman with some serious background. She's supposed to be the heiress of some overseas syndicate, and apparently, she's quite fond of him. If he actually manages to secure that bag, Clive might just use her to turn his whole life around."

Leilani's eyes flickered slightly, but she quickly returned to her usual calm demeanor. "Let him do what he wants. The Sloan family's business has nothing to do with me."

Clive ending up in this pathetic state was entirely his own doing. The fact that she hadn't kicked him while he was down was already incredibly generous of her.

Yvonne gave Leilani a look but chose not to say anything.
