The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 666

Leilani had a pretty good idea why Reese was so upset with her. Although she’d been caught in the crossfire today, Callahan, Dante, and Letty had all been unequivocal in their defense of her, so Leilani didn't have much to be angry about.

She smiled at Dante. "Don't worry. I didn't take anything they said to heart. Besides, I know you’ve got my back if anyone gives me a hard time."

Far from thinking she was being presumptuous, Dante felt it was a sign of her trust in him and burst out laughing. "That's the spirit! With the bond we share, you can rest assured that even if Callahan bullies you, all you have to do is tell me, and I'll whip him into shape!"

At that, Callahan immediately tightened his grip on Leilani's hand. "I won't let anyone bully Leilani, either."

...

On the other side of things, Reese and Talbot were escorted out by security on Dante's orders.

Since they were still family, the guards didn't dare get too rough, respectfully "seeing" the couple out of the villa complex. The night wind swept fallen leaves around their feet.

From a distance, the servants stood under the eaves, heads bowed, but they couldn't hide their furtive glances.

The stares felt like needles on their backs, making their skin burn with humiliation. Reese’s high heels clicked sharply on the stone path, as if trying to crush her seething rage.
