The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 679

“You should just find a private clinic and get it checked out,” Zeus said, his voice as detached as ever, betraying not a hint of familial warmth. The fact that Clive was his own brother earned him no special treatment.

Clive was at a loss for words, but shame still prevented him from telling the truth.

He tried again, unwilling to give up. “Zeus, don’t you have that set of private medical equipment in your lab at the hospital? I could just come for a quick check-up…”

“The lab equipment is not for your personal use,” Zeus cut him off flatly.

The lab was part of the hospital, and he had worked hard to improve his reputation there. Clive had just been all over the news recently, and Zeus didn’t want his own image tarnished by association.

The thought made Zeus’s tone even more impatient. “Didn’t you just say it was a minor issue? Why do you insist on coming to me for an examination? I thought you were out of the entertainment industry now. You don’t need to be so secretive, do you?”

Zeus’s words were like daggers to Clive’s heart. He was furious.

While what Zeus said was technically true, it was brutally harsh, showing a complete disregard for his own brother’s well-being. And didn’t Zeus get it? If it were just a common cold, would he really be calling him in the middle of the night for help? He couldn't say the words, but he couldn't believe Zeus didn’t understand the subtext. They came from the same womb. Zeus just didn't want him anywhere near him.

From the other end of the line, a colleague called out to Zeus, and he hurriedly ended the call. “I have to go, I’m busy.”
