The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 649

“Mr. Milman.”

“What did you think of today’s meeting?” Jeremy asked.

Felicia leaned forward, thoughtful. “There are a few key areas that need some serious reworking…”

Jeremy nodded along, listening carefully as she laid out her ideas, never cutting her off. “Alright, can you put together a detailed plan for me?”

“I’ll get on it,” Felicia replied.

He closed his tablet, signaling the end of their session. “That’s enough for today. Go get ready. Let’s grab some dinner.”

Felicia agreed and headed out.

It was about eight when they sat down together at a seafood place.

Midway through the meal, Felicia’s phone rang. It was Anne.

Felicia answered, and Anne’s sweet voice came through. “Mommy, why are you eating so late?”

“I worked late tonight, so dinner’s running behind,” she explained.

Anne let out a little sigh. “Are you eating alone?”

“No, honey, I’m with my boss.”

“Is it Uncle Jeremy?”

Anne remembered visiting her mom’s office and meeting Jeremy before.

Felicia gave a soft hum of confirmation but didn’t stay on the phone long.

Once Anne hung up, she put her phone down and turned to Max, who was sitting beside her. Her little face was all scrunched up. “Dad, you should just marry Mom.”

Max slid an arm around her shoulders. “What’s going on, kiddo?” His voice was gentle.

Anne pouted, worry written all over her face. “Mom and Uncle Jeremy are always together. What if she starts to like him more? You need to make her like you faster so she’ll marry you instead. Then she won’t want to be with Uncle Jeremy.”

Felicia was swamped. She spent her days checking numbers, reviewing projects—barely making time for water breaks.

As for Jeremy, he fired several people, including some execs from important positions.

It sent a chill through the office. People spoke in hushed voices, nervous about who might be next.

Roen Capital had been growing so quickly that management struggled to keep up. When business was booming, no one noticed the cracks. But with last year’s drop in performance, problems were impossible to ignore. If they didn’t fix them now, things would only get worse.

This restructuring at the start of the year wasn’t just about planning for the future. It was a warning—loud and clear—for everyone on the team.

Saturday found Felicia still at the office, finishing up her reports.

When she went to see Jeremy, she caught sight of two fancy red invitation cards on his desk. Curiosity got the better of her. “Something special coming up?”

Jeremy picked up one of the cards and handed it over. “This one’s for you.”

Felicia blinked, surprised, and took it from his hand.
