Felicia received a call from Jeremy just as she arrived at the club.
"Are you there, Felicia?" he asked.
Felicia hummed in confirmation. "I just arrived."
"Heather is coming down right now," Jeremy instructed. "Wait for her in the lobby."
Felicia breathed a sigh of relief. "Okay," she said. This was the Capital, after all. Trey wouldn't dare try anything reckless with Heather here.
She ended the call and waited in the lobby.
A few minutes later, she suddenly heard a respectful greeting. "Mr. Hawthorne."
Felicia instinctively turned her head and saw Max appearing at the entrance. Dannie was following closely behind him. Dannie noticed her as well.
The manager stepped forward to welcome him respectfully. "Right this way, Mr. Hawthorne."
Max's gaze landed on Felicia, who was standing a short distance away. Felicia darkened her expression, looked away, and was just about to step aside when she heard Heather's voice.
"Felicia," Heather called out.
Felicia paused in her tracks. Heather was walking briskly toward her from the elevators. Felicia strode forward, grabbed her hand, and looked her up and down.
"Are you alright?" she asked.
Heather shook her head. "I'm fine. Don't worry."
Felicia glanced up and saw Trey. His dark, cold eyes fixed on Felicia before he strode straight past them. As he walked by Max, he stopped. A meaningful smirk tugged at the corners of his thin lips.
"Your woman certainly likes to stick her nose where it doesn't belong," Trey sneered. "You had better keep a close eye on a fickle woman like her. Otherwise, things might get messy when she inevitably drags you into some shady scandal behind your back."
