The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1041

Harold glanced at Danielle in the rearview mirror, his tone sincere. “Especially when it comes to the kids, I'm more than happy to help.”

Danielle nodded, her voice soft. “Thank you, Mr. Chapman. If I ever need anything, I won’t hesitate to ask.”

The car soon arrived at Danielle’s apartment building. Harold helped her by carrying the sleeping Niki and then reminded Raffy, “I’m taking you to the art exhibit next week, so remember to finish your homework ahead of time.”

Raffy nodded, said goodbye to Danielle, and got into the car with Harold before they drove away.

Danielle carried Niki back home.

Just as Danielle had tucked the sleeping Niki into bed, her phone rang from the living room. It was NextCore. She frowned and answered the call.

A call from the project team at this hour likely meant there was an emergency.

“Chief Engineer Crawford, you need to get to the office, now! We have a major problem with the project!”

The engineer on the other end sounded frantic, with a jumble of anxious voices in the background.

“Miss Gaylord is… is saying you didn’t cover the details properly during the handover. The system integration has failed, and the losses could be in the tens of millions.”

Danielle’s grip on her phone tightened as a chill ran down her spine. She had meticulously compiled every critical detail into a document during the handover, even adding a special section for “Urgent Notes.” Lorie had claimed she understood everything at the time, but now that a problem had surfaced, she was shifting the blame to her?

Lorie, who was sitting next to the main seat, immediately stood up when Danielle entered. Her eyes were red-rimmed, and her voice was a mixture of grievance and accusation.

“Danielle, what took you so long? You never mentioned that the parameters for Module Three needed real-time calibration during the handover.”

“The system has crashed, and we can’t connect to the Cole database. What are we supposed to do now?”

Her voice cracked as if she had been deeply wronged, but her gaze held a hint of defiance as she looked at Danielle. The surrounding engineers exchanged uncertain glances, some looking sympathetic, clearly swayed by Lorie's performance.

Danielle didn’t rush to argue. She walked to the conference table, opened her laptop, and projected the handover email onto the large screen. “Miss Gaylord, you say I didn’t mention it?”
