The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1046

She opened her mouth as if to say something, but the words wouldn't come. Finally, she just gave a small nod, her voice barely a whisper. "Thank you?" Harold simply smiled, saying nothing more as he picked up the breakfast he had brought. "The doctor said you could have something light. I brought you some nourishing soup, you should eat it while it's hot." Danielle took the bowl and began sipping it slowly, her mind already racing. Businessmen don't do anything for free. She couldn't bring herself to fully trust the man before her; she was no longer the naive, easily manipulated girl she once was.

When Danielle returned home from the hospital, the first thing she saw were several large cardboard boxes stacked in the entryway. The logos of well-known health supplement brands were printed on the side, and they looked expensive. She didn't even have to guess who they were from—it had to be Alexander. After all, he had just shown up a few days ago with medicine to "replenish her energy," and now that she was out of the hospital, he was pulling the same stunt.

She bent down, her fingers tracing the smooth packaging with a complicated feeling stirring inside her. Pulling out her phone, she found Alexander on WhatsApp and sent a direct message: "Are these supplements at my door from you? What's this about?" After sending the text, Danielle sat on the sofa to wait for a reply, casually opening one of the boxes. Inside, she found various expensive supplements for post-surgery recovery.

Just as she was looking through them, her phone vibrated with a reply from Alexander: "They're not from me." A second message followed. "I heard you were in the hospital again. Are you okay?" Danielle frowned at the two messages. If not Alexander, then who? She thought about what to reply, but decided against it and set her phone aside.

She moved the boxes to the living room and opened each one, searching for a shipping label or sender information, but the labels had been torn off. Puzzled, Danielle first called Kirsten. "Kirsten, did you send me a bunch of supplements? There are several boxes at my door." "Supplements? No, I was going to ask you to dinner to celebrate you getting out of the hospital," Kirsten replied, sounding confused. "Maybe Gian sent them? He asked me about you yesterday, said he felt bad that he couldn't get in touch."

After hanging up with Kirsten, Danielle called Gian, but he denied it too. She asked a few other close friends, but the answer was always the same. No one had sent her any supplements. Just as she was about to give up, her phone buzzed with a message from Harold. "Did you get the supplements? They're all for helping your recovery. You just got out of the hospital, so you need to take good care of yourself." Another message followed. "I also put a few blind boxes in there for Niki. She mentioned wanting them before, so I grabbed some."

Reading the messages, Danielle understood everything. She replied, "Thank you, you've spent too much." "It's my pleasure," Harold replied quickly, his tone as gentle as ever. "Just get some rest and don't overdo it."
