The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1164

Only Kirsten and Gian remained at the entrance, the air now filled with the fresh, earthy scent of rain.

Kirsten looked out at the torrential downpour. Neither of them seemed to have an umbrella.

She took a deep breath, turned to Gian, and yelled, "Gian, let's go! Race you!"

Before Gian could even react, she had hitched up her skirt and plunged headfirst into the rain. The water instantly soaked her hair and clothes, and the cold shock made her shiver, but she only laughed with more delight.

Gian, who had just opened an umbrella, could only stare as she darted out. He was left speechless for a moment, watching her slender figure running through the deluge.

With a helpless shake of his head, he folded the umbrella and hurried after her.

Rainwater slicked back his hair and soaked through his shirt, plastering it to his skin with a sudden chill. But he didn't slow down, his eyes locked on the joyful, skipping figure ahead, afraid she might slip and fall in the storm.

Kirsten reached Gian's car and tugged on the door handle, only to find it locked. She turned to watch him striding toward her, rain streaming down her face and hair plastered to her forehead. She was still grinning from ear to ear as she shouted over the storm, "Gian, hurry up and unlock the door! I'm turning into a drowned rat out here!"

Her voice was partially swallowed by the sound of the rain, but it was still bright and cheerful, as if this were all some wonderful game.

Gian reached the car and pressed the button on his key fob. With a soft click, the doors unlocked. Kirsten immediately pulled the door open and slid inside. "You're so slow! Look at you, you're a drowned rat now, too!"
