The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1178

Seeing the guilt on his face, Danielle felt a wave of sorrow wash over her as well. She knew that this relationship, while torturing her, was also an agony for Alexander. The past wounds and present obstacles that stood between them meant neither could truly win, and neither could simply walk away.

“For now, let’s put our feelings for each other aside.” Danielle took a deep breath, pushing down her complicated emotions. Her voice grew serious. “At the very least, you have to ensure our daughter has a good environment to grow up in.”

Niki was innocent. She shouldn’t have to grow up without a father or in a broken home because of their history. This had been Danielle’s conviction all along and the main reason she had finally decided to stop avoiding Alexander.

Alexander’s head snapped up to look at her. Then, he nodded firmly, his voice resolute. “Okay.” He knew she was doing this for Niki, but it was also a chance for him—a chance to make it up to his daughter.

He looked at Danielle, his lips parting as if he had much to say but didn’t know where to begin. The guilt, longing, love, and conflict tangled inside him like a knotted mess, leaving him speechless.

“Just say what’s on your mind,” Danielle prompted gently, sensing his hesitation.

Alexander’s throat worked again as he stared at her with a complex gaze. After a long moment, the man finally spoke. “It’s just… it feels like no matter what I do, I’ll never be able to make it up to you and our daughter.”

Back then, he had failed to protect Danielle, letting her suffer so much. He hadn't been there for Niki, missing all the small moments of her childhood. Now, he wanted to atone, but he realized that nothing he did could turn back time or heal the old wounds. The helplessness was a constant torment.

Seeing the pain and guilt in his eyes, Danielle’s heart ached even more. She knew Alexander was suffering too. She shook her head slightly, a hint of acceptance in her tone. “That’s why you need to do what’s right, starting now.”
