The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1184

“He just never expected that his method would only drive the wedge between you deeper.” “He’s not pushing me away anymore, but he doesn’t seem to want to get too close either,” Danielle said. “He thinks I should hate him, so he’s deliberately keeping his distance. I want to get through to him, but I don’t know how.”

“You’re already in his heart,” Jason said definitively. “His biggest enemy right now isn’t you, or anything that happened in the past. It’s himself. He can’t forgive himself for the pain he caused you, and that’s why he keeps his heart locked away.” He paused, then continued, “Don’t rush to break through his defenses, and don’t push him to let go of the past right away. The best thing you can do now is just be there for him. Give him time to slowly break out of this cycle of self-loathing. Trust me, you’re in his heart. As long as you don’t give up, he’ll open up to you one day.”

Danielle nodded, taking Jason’s words to heart. She knew matters of the heart couldn’t be rushed, especially with someone as haunted as Alexander. But seeing his current state, her own heart was still filled with anxiety.

After leaving the hospital, Danielle couldn’t stop thinking about what Jason had said. She knew she needed to give Alexander time, but time was a luxury they didn’t have. In one week, the extreme environment test for the 07 prototype jet was scheduled to begin. The research team was heading to Antarctica, and as the project’s chief director, Alexander had to lead the expedition personally.

The Antarctic environment was brutally harsh—the temperatures were freezing, the conditions complex. It was an extreme test of both physical and mental fortitude. In his current state, could Alexander’s body withstand such high-intensity work? What if something happened during the tests? These questions weighed on Danielle’s mind like stones, robbing her of sleep.

She knew better than anyone what the 07 prototype meant to Alexander; it was the culmination of years of his life’s work. She couldn’t stop him from going. She couldn’t even try. But she couldn’t bear the thought of him going alone.

Back in her apartment, Danielle sat on the sofa. She would join the research team in Antarctica. She knew the decision might create difficulties, and could even disrupt the testing schedule, but she had no other choice. She couldn't just stand by and watch Alexander venture into such a dangerous place while he was so frail. She had to be with him. She would face the Antarctic blizzards with him, complete the mission together, and come back safely together.

Picking up her phone, Danielle dialed Nash’s number. “Nash, I need you to make arrangements for me to join the research team heading to Antarctica next week. I’m going with you.” Nash was stunned into silence for a moment before he quickly replied, “Miss Crawford, the environment in Antarctica is far too harsh. It’s too dangerous for you to go there. Besides, Mr. Davidson would never agree to it.”

“I know it’s dangerous, but I’m an engineer, I have a reason to be there. And I know Alexander won’t agree,” Danielle’s tone was firm. “But I have to go. You don’t have to tell him. Just make the arrangements. If he asks, tell him it was my own demand and that you had nothing to do with it.” “But…” Nash hesitated. “That’s final,” Danielle said, not giving him a chance to object before hanging up the phone.
