The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1216

Alexander’s throat tightened as he started to speak, but Danielle cut him off. “Don’t try to persuade me. I’ve made my decision, and I’m not changing it.”

Parham sighed, looking at the stalemate between them, but ultimately said no more. He knew Alexander’s temperament and could see Danielle’s resolve; anything else he said would be useless.

Soon, the rest of the research station staff had packed their bags and said their goodbyes to Alexander and Danielle, one by one. The off-road vehicle kicked up a cloud of snow and ice, gradually disappearing over the horizon of the vast, white plains.

The sprawling station fell silent, leaving only the sound of their two breaths hanging in the air.

Danielle looked at Alexander's thin frame from behind and couldn't help but say, “Maybe you should go with them to the city and see a doctor. You can always come back when you’re feeling better.”

Alexander turned around. “I know my own body,” he said. “It’s an old problem. I just need a couple of days' rest. There’s no need to make a big deal out of it.”

Danielle started to protest again, but he gently placed a hand on her shoulder. “Don’t worry, we have plenty of supplies here.” He gestured toward the storage room. “Canned goods, protein bars, drinking water… enough to last us for half a month. The generator is working, so we have heat and light. We’ll be fine.”

Following his gaze, Danielle saw that the storage room door was ajar, revealing shelves neatly stacked with provisions. She realized he had been preparing to stay all along.

Alexander stood by the window, staring out at the immense, snow-covered landscape. “The chip is gone. We can’t find it. But this research cannot stop.”

Danielle walked over with two mugs of hot water and handed one to him. She recalled the hesitant looks on the faces of the team members as they left. “It seemed like some of them wanted to stay,” she noted.
