The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1255

“Harold! Is this your brilliant plan?” Lorie shrieked, pointing a finger at him.

“Didn’t you say the security was airtight? Didn’t you say they were trapped? And now? They’ve escaped! They’ve escaped with the evidence!”

Harold turned on her.

“What right do you have to blame me? If you hadn’t been so obsessed with getting engaged to Alexander, with keeping him trapped by your side and giving him time to breathe, how could he have possibly escaped?”

“Obsessed?” Lorie laughed as if she’d heard the world’s greatest joke.

“I was doing it for our plan! The secrets Alexander has—the only way to be sure of them was to keep him tied to me! It was you! Your plan was full of holes! You didn’t even account for the guard shift changes, and that’s what gave them an opening!”

“You’ve gone too far!” Harold shot back, stung by her accusation.

He took a step closer, staring her down.

“Lorie, did you really think I didn’t know what you were plotting? You want to use me, use the Chapman family’s power, to help your Gaylord family reclaim everything it lost. And you want to keep Alexander firmly in your grasp. You’re quite ambitious!”

His voice dropped to a low growl.

“And don’t forget, the man you’re so desperate to marry… his mentor was killed by your father! With a history like that, do you really think he’ll marry you?”

She trembled, her face turning deathly pale.

Seeing the coldness in Harold’s eyes, she belatedly realized their partnership had been nothing more than a mutually exploitative sham.

“You thought you could control everything?” Harold sneered.

“You were just a pawn in my game. And now that the pawn is out of control, it’s time to change the rules.”

The atmosphere in the command center dropped to freezing.

On another front, Danielle, driving the SUV, finally burst out of the narrow path.

In the snowfield ahead, a few familiar figures and flashing vehicle lights faintly appeared.

A spark of light ignited in Danielle’s eyes.

“It’s Sammie’s men,” she cried out excitedly.
