The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 1389

Kirsten's hands froze mid-air as she stared at the handbag Luna was holding out, fury instantly flaring in her chest.

She was here as legal support, not as a glorified personal assistant.

Luna knew exactly who she was at Ninesky. She knew Kirsten was surrounded by former colleagues.

Ordering her to carry bags and fetch coffee was a blatant power play designed to humiliate her on her own turf.

The whispers grew louder. People were staring—some shocked, some pitying, and some just enjoying the show.

Kirsten's face flushed hot, then drained of color. She balled her hands into fists, struggling to keep her temper from boiling over.

She glared at Luna, her eyes burning with anger. But Luna just offered a serene smile, turned on her heel, and walked into the legal department, leaving Kirsten standing in the hallway, holding a heavy designer bag.

Kirsten stood rooted to the spot for a long, agonizing moment. Finally, she gritted her teeth, spun around, and headed for the elevators.

She wasn't going to cause a scene in the middle of Ninesky. She refused to give them more gossip material. She just had to swallow it.

She marched to the elevator bank and slammed the down button. The doors slid open, and she stepped forward, only to freeze.

Gian was stepping out.

He was in a sharp black suit, holding a stack of documents, clearly just returning from a meeting downstairs.

His eyes landed on Kirsten. He paused, glancing down at the handbag clutched in her fist, and then looked down the hall toward the legal department.

He took in her flushed face, the raw anger and humiliation in her eyes, and her tightly pressed lips. It didn't take a genius to put the pieces together.

His gaze shifted past her, catching a glimpse of Luna inside the legal office.

A deep frown formed on his face. A flash of irritation crossed his eyes, but in the end, he didn't say a single word.
