The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 977

Danielle took a deep breath, forcing her emotions down. She looked up, her gaze sharp as she stared at Lorie. “Miss Gaylord, my marriage to Alexander is not for you to judge.”

“Instead of speculating about someone else's past, perhaps you should focus on your own present. After all, not everyone is lucky enough to use a pregnancy to secure their position.”

Lorie’s smile froze on her face, her expression turning ugly. “Danielle, what’s that supposed to mean?”

“It means nothing,” Danielle said coolly, setting down her fork and standing up. “I have work to do. I won’t keep you from your meal, Miss Gaylord.”

With that, she turned and walked back to her workstation, leaving behind a fuming Lorie and a crowd of awkward colleagues.

Back at her desk, Danielle stared at her computer screen, but her mind was blank. Lorie’s words had been piercing, but they had also forced her to face a stark reality: her past with Alexander was a mistake she’d rather forget.

And this unexpected child felt like a continuation of that mistake.

She couldn’t let this child become a burden on her future, and she certainly couldn’t let him affect Niki’s life.

At that thought, Danielle’s expression hardened with resolve. She turned to her computer and began rapidly processing the final handover documents, driven by a single goal: finish the paperwork, resolve this accident, and start a new life. As soon as possible.

During her lunch break, Danielle received a call from Gian.

“How’s the handover going? Do you want me to come pick you up?”

“Almost done. I should be finished this afternoon,” Danielle said, her voice tinged with exhaustion. “Gian, I’ve made up my mind. I’m going to terminate the pregnancy.”

There was a moment of silence on the other end, followed by Gian’s gentle voice. “Okay. I respect your decision.”

“I’ll go to the hospital with you this afternoon, alright?”

Danielle sat across from the doctor, her fingers twisting the hem of her shirt as she listened to the explanation of the abortion procedure, its risks, and the scheduling.

“It’s still very early in the pregnancy. We’ll need to wait a few more weeks to be in the optimal window for the procedure. Coming back around this time next month would be ideal, as the risks will be lower.”

Danielle took a deep breath, swallowing the bitterness in her throat. She looked up at the doctor and nodded slowly. “Okay, let’s schedule it for next month.”

Just as she said it, her phone vibrated in her pocket. It was Alexander. She frowned.

The doctor handed her the surgical consent form. “Take a look at this. Let me know if you have any questions.”

Danielle took the document, her finger tracing the words “surgical risks” before she finally answered the call, her voice distant. “Hello?”

“Danielle, what did you say to Lorie?”
