Too Late Mr. White! I'm Married To Your Rival Now novel Chapter 277

Aria's POV

Aiden leaned down and captured my lips again, his kiss deeper and more thorough this time. His tongue traced the seam of my mouth, coaxing me to open for him as his hands cradled my face. I instinctively clutched the sides of his shirt, tilting my head back to receive his lingering attention.

By the time we broke apart, my head was spinning. The morning kiss had left me completely dazed.

As I walked downstairs, my cheeks still burned hot. The front door opened, letting in the cool morning breeze that helped clear my foggy mind.

Aiden had already changed into his shoes. He pulled me into a quick embrace and kissed my forehead. "I'll take you somewhere special tonight," he murmured against my skin.

"Where are we going?" I asked, curiosity instantly piqued.

Aiden looked at me with that mischievous half-smile that always made my stomach flutter. "You'll find out tonight."

I blinked, realizing how playful he'd become lately. "Fine," I conceded.

He released me with obvious reluctance. "Go have breakfast."

"Mmhmm."

I nodded, watching his broad shoulders disappear around the corner before closing the front door and heading to the dining room for breakfast.

Nanny had already set out my meal. The coffee had cooled to the perfect drinking temperature after sitting for a few minutes.

After breakfast, I went straight to the music room. Just as I was about to start practicing, I got a call from the singer Julian had recommended yesterday.

After a brief conversation, I accepted the simple freelance job. The recording was scheduled for next week and would only take half a day to complete.

The pay wasn't as much as what Julian offered, but it was still generous. Making thirty thousand for half a day's work was nothing to complain about.

After all, I was saving up to buy my husband a special gift!

Starting my morning with a new gig put me in a wonderful mood, and even my piano practice felt more inspired than usual.

I practiced for six hours straight. At four in the afternoon, I sent Aiden a quick message before changing into my swimsuit to go swimming.

I wasn't sure if it was just my imagination, but since the accident, I'd been exercising less, and my abs were starting to lose definition.

At lunch, I'd asked Aiden if we would eat at home or go out tonight, since he mentioned taking me somewhere. When he said we'd eat at home, I didn't ask Nanny to take the evening off.

And since dinner would be at home, I felt comfortable changing into my swimsuit for a swim.

My plan was perfect: I'd start swimming at four, spend about an hour in the pool, get out around five to rest a bit, then shower and wait for Aiden to come home from work.

What I hadn't expected was Aiden coming home before his usual time.

When I spotted him suddenly standing by the pool, I lifted my head from the water, my heart racing instantly.

"You're home early today," I called out.

"I heard you've been swimming for an hour already. Don't you want to take a break?" he asked, bending down and extending his hand to me, clearly intending to help me out.

I automatically placed my hand in his, and as my fingers touched his palm, I suddenly remembered a description from a novel I'd read recently:

"His crisp white shirt slightly damp, thin beads of sweat seeping through the fabric, highlighting his already perfect physique with even more intensity."

Looking up at him, an idea formed in my mind. "You look hot. Want to cool down in here with me?"

I wanted to see how his shirt would look when wet.

Aiden chuckled softly. "Whatever Mrs. Carter wants."

Then he suddenly let go of my hand, and I dropped back into the water without his support. Before I could react, water splashed onto my face as Aiden dove in beside me.

I watched in fascination as he submerged completely, his black dress shirt instantly clinging to his body when he resurfaced. The wet fabric molded to his torso, revealing every defined muscle beneath. The sight was somehow more provocative than if he'd been completely naked.

He smiled, gently pulling me through the water and into his arms. I collided with his chest, feeling his warmth even through the coolness of the pool.

Aiden looked at my shoulders glistening under the water, his Adam's apple bobbing as he swallowed hard. He lowered his head, his breath tantalizingly close as he murmured, "Am I still hot?"
