Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 112

“I’ll go with Shipley, then.”

Vianne nestled into Shipley’s arms, her hand resting gently on his chest. Her voice was soft as silk. “If I’m with you, you’ll never feel alone. And if you’re upset, I’ll be right here to comfort you.”

She was always this way—gentle, putting him first in everything.

But then again, Silvia had her own way of caring too, just with a touch more pride and fire than Vianne.

Shipley smiled, unable to turn Vianne down. Suddenly, he dipped his head and pressed a kiss to her forehead. “Vianne, with you by my side, nothing feels impossible.”

They kissed and embraced right there in the office. The air between them turned electric, charged with intimacy.

...

At nine that night, Shipley and Vianne finally stepped onto the streets of Capital City.

They exchanged a glance. Vianne’s eyes were warm and tender as she asked softly, “Shall we go to your place?”

Shipley was a Capital City native. The Barlow family was solidly middle-class—not wealthy, but comfortable.

He nodded, his voice gentle. “Vianne, just stick with me while you’re here in Capital City.”

“Alright,” she replied, slipping easily and naturally to his side.

It was late. Once they arrived at Shipley’s apartment, they tidied up a bit and went straight to bed.

With that, Kent strode away.

Shipley watched his cold, retreating figure and drew a slow, deep breath. Hatred and frustration flickered in his eyes.

One day, he’d make Kent realize—crossing the line would come back to bite him.

Squaring his shoulders, Shipley picked up the gift he’d brought for the Ashford family and headed inside.

He’d visited the Ashfords often enough that the butler recognized him and led him straight in.

In the living room, Garth had just left, and only Finn remained, lounging on the sofa, eyes fixed on his phone. When he looked up and saw Shipley, something unreadable flashed in his gaze. His narrow eyes glinted coldly for a moment before he forced a smile, voice tight with barely contained anger. “Weren’t you in Luminova City? You wouldn’t even pick up my calls before. So, what brings you back to the Ashfords now?”
