Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 114

He stared at Finn, still convinced that Finn was upset with him for not picking up the phone earlier.

“Finn, about what happened before—I’m sorry.” The smile faded from Shipley’s usually warm eyes, and he let out a quiet sigh. “I didn’t come here to talk about the project.”

“Then what are you doing here? Looking for Silvia?” Finn pressed, his voice laced with a hint of sarcasm.

Only now did Shipley realize something was off.

It suddenly struck him—was Finn mad at him because of Silvia?

Could it be that Silvia had told Finn about their time together?

But that didn’t quite add up. Why would Silvia tell anyone from the Ashford family about that?

Shipley pressed his lips together, forcing a faint smile. Testing the waters, he said, “Finn, I’m not here for Silvia. It’s work-related, that’s all, so I—”

“It’s better if you’re not here for her,” Finn cut in, jaw tightening, a flash of mockery in his eyes.

Once again, Finn held himself back.

Now Shipley was certain.

So, that’s it—Finn’s mad at him because of Silvia.

“Finn, whatever you’re thinking about me and Silvia—it’s not like that.” Shipley’s gaze dropped, his voice a little lower.

If Silvia had already told Finn about them, there was no point hiding anything now.

Maybe Sweet Silvia had done it on purpose, as a kind of signal.

She must want everyone to know about their relationship.

If this was what his Sweet Silvia wanted so desperately to tell him, he’d gladly indulge her.

At that thought, Shipley’s smile widened, and a spark of light returned to his eyes.

“Mm.”

With that, Shipley ended the call.

His gaze was fixed on the towering entrance of the building ahead—waiting, hoping to catch a glimpse of the person he longed to see.

Meanwhile, in Ashford Group’s design department, Amy handed Silvia the task of running errands, saying she wasn’t busy at the moment and had time to spare.

Silvia thought the job was dull, but she didn’t protest.

She took the elevator down, and as she stepped outside, she ran straight into a familiar gaze.

A man’s eyes met hers, overflowing with a tenderness that was almost too much to bear.

Shipley stepped forward, stopping in front of her. He smiled gently. “Sweet Silvia, how does it feel to be your brother’s rival?”
