Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 157

“Silvia really is the little princess of the Ashford family, isn’t she? So sharp,” Finn teased, lounging back in his chair with a lazy grin. “Amy probably just lost her head after quitting and wanted to confess her feelings to me one last time. Honestly, I was going to ask HR to make you head of the design department.”

When Silvia returned to the Ashford family years ago, Finn had only felt tenderness for her. He couldn’t help but pay extra attention to her daily life.

He knew perfectly well that his little sister had an extraordinary gift for design.

Becoming a top designer had always been Silvia’s dream.

Thinking about this, Finn let out a low curse, his handsome brows knitting tightly together as his tone turned cold. “If Shipley hadn’t held you back all these years, you could’ve been at the very top of the design world by now!”

Shipley—what a toxic influence.

Silvia shot Finn a glance, catching sight of the frustration and discontent twisting his features. She laughed softly.

She’d never been one to dwell on past mistakes.

“I don’t want to stay in the design department,” Silvia said.

“Why not?” Finn was genuinely puzzled.

The Ashford Group’s main business wasn’t design, but its design division still had a solid reputation in the industry.

Silvia lacked real-world experience, and working in the family’s design department would’ve been the safest bet. The whole family could protect her there.

“I want to start my own design company,” Silvia met Finn’s worried gaze, offering a gentle explanation. “Besides, the company’s already running smoothly. If I suddenly parachute in as director, it’ll just make things awkward for everyone else.”

Finn hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “Alright. Whatever you decide, the family will always back you up.”

He didn’t try to talk her out of it, even though the design department was now left without a head.

Damn it.

Why couldn’t anything ever be easy?

Amy, that useless woman, had just refunded her the hundred thousand and blocked her number, quitting without so much as a warning!

Vianne was still fuming about that when she heard Shipley planned to move the company out of Luminova.

Shipley looked at her beautiful face, a tenderness flickering in his eyes. He reached out, gently cupping her cheek, his hand shielding the lower half of her face, leaving only her glistening, expressive eyes visible.

His smile softened, filled with a deep, almost aching affection.

Those eyes—they looked just like Sweet Silvia’s.
