After a few rounds of drinks and food, the dinner was about to end. Aurora and Eira left the palace.
Ambrose walked them to the palace entrance before he stopped and waved farewell to Eira. “Eira, look for me in the palace when you have time in the future!”
“Alright, Brother Ambrose!” Eira replied, smiling. Although their engagement was not successful, her emotions were not affected.
It was almost midnight, but the main street at Royal City was still busy as usual. Many people were walking the streets, and there were many different stalls on the street. Some stalls made clay art, some sold snacks, and some sold hawthorn candy.
Aurora was amazed when she saw that.
It was impressive that Royal City in New World was still so busy even though it was late at night.
Eira was really excited. She wanted to stop at every stall, look around and touch everything she saw. She looked adorable.
Suddenly Eira remembered something and asked, “Mother! Why were you against my engagement with Brother Ambrose?”
As her daughter, Eira knew Aurora well. Although Aurora was cold, she had her own principles. There must be a reason why she was against the engagement.
“You can’t marry him,” Aurora replied without hesitation.
“Why?” Eira was full of doubt.
“Because…” Aurora blushed and was about to explain. Suddenly, there was a commotion coming from the alley in front of them, followed by the cries of a child.
The child’s cry was heart-clenching and dreadfully sorrowful.
The kind-hearted Eira was touched immediately when she heard the cry. She pulled Aurora’s arm. “ Mother, let’s go take a look.”
