Perfect Husband, The Destined One novel Chapter 2819

No one recognized Chester’s outfit, but Jack was no stranger to his appearance as a minion of the King of the Dead. Jack dared not treat the esteemed envoy to the king with disrespect.

Chester responded curtly and said to Jack, "Jack, His Majesty has found a gem indeed. You managed to catch all the people from the major sects in The Nine Continent so quickly."

Jack was overjoyed to hear the praise and said, "It is my duty to serve His Majesty."

"However, His Majesty has just issued a new order and told me to tell you specifically,” Chester replied.

Jack looked solemn. "What is the order?"

Chester looked around and pointed to Quincy and the rest. "His Majesty wants you to let these people go."

‘What? Release these people from the major sects? It took a lot of effort to catch all of them.’ Jack was shocked.

Jack thought he heard it wrong and jokingly said, "Your Excellency, please don't joke with me. Before I left, His Majesty repeatedly told me that I must topple all the major sects in The Nine Continent. Why–"

Chester interrupted without waiting for Jack to finish. "Jack, the decision of His Majesty is not something you and I can understand."

With a blank expression, he said, "Perhaps, this is just a test of your loyalty toward His Majesty but he had no real intentions to capture these people."

Chester glanced at Quincy and the others calmly. The King of the Dead did not order those people to be released; Chester made up the fake decree.

Chester was imprisoned in purgatory when King of the Dead sent Jack out on the mission, but Chester learned the situation from the ghost armies. Without much consideration, the desperate Chester found a chance to escape from purgatory.

He knew that he was taking risks. After all, the King of the Dead was powerful, but he had no other choice. If all the people from the major sects were arrested and sent to the Ghost World, the entire cultivators’ world in The Nine Continent would be over.

Jack stood there with mixed emotions and hesitated. "Err..."

Chester's face sank. "Now what? Do you dare disobey His Majesty’s order?"
