Darryl was frustrated and sweating profusely when he saw that. Given Darryl’s power, he could easily destroy the giant net using his internal energy. However, he would likely hurt Thea with his internal energy if he did that. On the other hand, if he did not activate his internal energy, the pirates would kill them.

Then, he had a sudden thought when he saw the pirates approaching.

“Brothers, I really have no connection with Thea. We’re from the same group and I’m a pirate too. Of course, I’m just a little unknown pirate. I can’t compare to your reputation. I was captured by Thea half an hour ago! She wanted me to help her investigate Devil Island. Then, you captured us right after we arrived on the island,” Darryl shouted, looking frightened.

‘What? This guy is a pirate too?’ Zale, his brothers and the other pirates were stunned.

Thea trembled as she stared blankly at Darryl, speechless. ‘He said he’s a pirate? What is he trying to do?’

“Young man, are you really a pirate?” Zale said to Darryl after coming to his senses.

Darryl nodded and looked respectful. “It’s true. Why would I dare lie to you? I’m fond of Devil Island, but no one recommended me. It’s fate that I was captured by my brothers here. I wish to join you if you don’t mind!”

He looked so sincere as he spoke. His mind was buzzing too.

Darryl was not actually eager to join the pirates. It was just his temporary plan. He was not afraid of the pirates if they fought. However, he might hurt Thea during the fight. Darryl planned to calm the pirates down first; then, he would find an opportunity to rescue Thea.

Thea was worried and angry when she saw that.

“You bastard! You want to join Devil Island?” she scolded him.

‘He has no dignity at all. I wonder why the eldest Young Miss of the Damien family picked him!’ Thea thought.
