"Mayor!"
An urgent voice rang at the nick of time, and then a heroic figure stopped Seth.
It was Thea.
"Thea?"
Seth frowned sulkily and said coldly, "What are you doing? Get out of the way!"
'Darryl is too arrogant! He must be killed for he did not take me and the others from the prominent families seriously.'
At the same time, everyone around Grady frowned.
"Mayor!" Thea bit her lip anxiously and said, "Don't be impulsive. The law of the principality stipulates that a death sentence should be done publicly. If you kill him here, you are violating the law."
Thea darted a few looks at Darryl nervously; she was troubled.
She believed that Darryl was framed, so how could she watch him being executed?
Huh!
Seth fell silent after listening to Thea. He put away his sword and exclaimed angrily, "Guards! Take Darryl to prison. Gather all the people in the city tomorrow for the execution early in the morning."
Seth wanted to kill Darryl right away, but Thea was right about the law of the principality that stipulated that no one could execute the death penalty discreetly. As the mayor, he should not break the law.
Clomp! Clomp! Clomp!
Soon, a few soldiers stepped forward and left the manor with Darryl.
Darryl breathed a sigh of relief, and at the same time, gave Thea a grateful look.
Darryl did not expect Thea to offer him help at such a critical moment.
The people from the prominent families left after Darryl was taken away; only Grady stayed behind.
"Lolita!"
