The Duke looked at Darryl and said, "Oh? Mister Darren, do you know how to paint?"
"I do know a little!" Darryl nodded.
The Duke smiled faintly. "Then, what do you think of Frank's painting?"
The Duke was waiting expectantly for Darryl’s response.
Darryl stood up slowly and glanced at Frank's landscape painting.
"He’s quite skilled, but the painting lacks artistic conception. In general, it's an average piece of work,” he commented candidly.
‘What? Did he say that this painting is average?’ The Duke and everyone else present was shocked.
‘Darren is so boastful. How dare he comment on Frank's painting.’
‘That’s interesting!’
Finally, Jameson reacted and glared indignantly at Darryl. "You talk as if you know what you’re saying. Do you know who he is? He is the most influential painter in the Day Rise Principality, maybe even the entire Roland Continent."
At the same time, the other Mayors around began to criticize Darryl.
"That’s right. Don't pretend to be a know-it-all!"
"I think this guy is an attention-seeker."
‘The most influential painter?’ Darryl chuckled, not bothering to argue.
Next to Darryl, Reese was a little anxious as she gently tugged on Darryl’s sleeve. "Darren, don't talk nonsense."
Although Darryl did appear to be quite talented, Reese thought it was not right for him to comment on Frank's paintings in such a degrading way.
Darryl smiled and motioned to Reese not to be nervous.
