Frank was reluctant to concede defeat and bow down to Darryl, but he could not deny the fact that Darryl’s painting was better than his.
“Frank…” Jameson was so anxious he could not continue after calling Frank’s name.
He thought it was a good opportunity for Frank to one-up Darryl, but he was not expecting Darryl would defeat Frank as the more accomplished painter.
The entire hall fell silent and all eyes were on Darryl, including the Duke!
When the Duke recovered from his shock, he was unable to contain his excitement.
“Ha-ha! Well done! Darren’s painting is the best amongst the finest pieces of art. Hang this painting up in the hall inside and keep it as the Principality’s prized artwork,” the Duke said, beaming widely.
"Yes!" a maid hurriedly responded and then carefully took the painting away into the hall inside.
Everyone eyed Darryl enviously after the Duke issued the order. Especially Frank.
He was full of conflicted emotions. As the most accomplished painter in the Day Rise Principality, Frank had painted so many art pieces, but none of them were kept by the Duke as a prized possession of the Principality.
Albert was so excited as he patted Darryl on the shoulder and said, "I really didn't expect that you were so skilled at painting. I’m impressed."
Next to them, Reese was quivering with excited as well. She was gazing at Darryl with admiration. ‘This man is really amazing; he is a man with many skills.’
