Their laughter seemed endless.
'There's something wrong with these people. Shouldn't they be patrolling instead of causing trouble for me?' Darryl thought with a frown.
Then he turned to face Barclay and said with a half-smile, "A challenge? As if you're qualified to do that."
Stunned by what Darryl said, their laughter immediately stopped before giving way to anger.
"You crazy son of a b*tch! How dare you say our captain is not qualified to challenge you?"
"I wonder where he gets all his confidence from?"
"He's looking down on us, isn't he?"
Jesse moved closer to Darryl and pointed at his face. "Do you have a death wish? If you're scared of the challenge, own it like a man. Don't act as if—"
"Leave me alone!" Darryl's patience had reached its limits. He raised his hand and slapped Jesse. Jesse's scream accompanied the sound of flesh meeting flesh. The force was so strong that Jesse made a complete 360 turn before collapsing onto the ground. His swollen cheek made him seem pitiful.
Initially, Darryl did not plan to be the one to deal the first strike, but he could not hold back his anger anymore when faced with their constant provocation.
