The Golden Lions kept roaring as they paced around in their cages. Their roars caused the air around them to vibrate and it seemed to echo up into the sky.
At this moment, Marshall’s face was full of smiles though his eyes remained cold. There was no way Darryl would be able to tame ten Golden Lions at the same time. There were two outcomes for him — being bitten to the death or torn to shreds.
Under the Queen’s orders, the guards had erected a perimeter of metal fences as an arena for Darryl to tame the Golden Lions. Once the perimeter was set up, the ten Golden Lions were released into the arena.
Marshall roared with laughter. “Everything’s ready for you. Go on then. Don’t tell me you’re scared now that you’ve seen how ferocious they truly are.”
Everyone turned their attention to Darryl.
“Those Golden Lions sure are scary. Is he going to back out of it now?”
“He looks like he’s regretting his words.”
“Of course! Anyone would be!”
Darryl smiled and said, “I’m not scared.”
Then, he jumped into the arena.
Everyone went quiet with shock at this. He must be crazy to really enter the arena. All this while, Princess Angeline’s eyes never left Darryl. Her exquisite face was filled with both confusion and worry. ‘Is he not afraid of death?’
Madame Pandora’s eyes, too, never left Darryl and her heart nearly jumped out of her chest when she saw him jumping into the arena. As for the Queen, her eyes were sparkling brightly and were filled with deep admiration for Darryl — not everyone could stay so calm in the face of such danger.
Suddenly, they all saw the ten Golden Lions rushing towards Darryl as soon as he jumped in. Each of them had their mouths wide open, their sharp teeth glinting menacingly for all to see. Everyone started to break out in cold sweats, fearing the worst for him. They dared not make a move or sound as they stared with eyes wide open, waiting for Darryl to do something.
At the sight of the ten Golden Lions rushing towards him, each of them giving off a murderous aura, Darryl did not panic at all. He calmly induced his internal energy and injected it inside the beast taming loop he had on him.
Instantly, a unique energy frequency erupted out of the beast taming loop and spread all over the Golden Lions with Darryl as its center. The ten Golden Lions became visibly agitated and stopped where they were when they felt the energy frequency. They stared at Darryl with confused eyes.
‘There’s something special about this human’s aura,’ they thought.
The ten Golden Lions growled deeply at Darryl as they locked their gaze on him, waiting for an opportunity to strike. At this, the audience held their breath, not daring to exhale. Only Marshall was smiling sinisterly.
