At that point in time, Marshall was sweating profusely under the sudden infection of the brain-eating worm; his robes were soaked, his face was pale, and he looked miserable.
Marshall sneered after he heard Darryl's words. Then, he took out a few white pills and stuffed them into his mouth.
Those white pills were able to suppress the effect of brain-eating worms. Marshall could get his hands on the brain-eating worms. He naturally would have the antidote to suppress the brain-eating worms.
'Antidote?'
Darryl chuckled at the sight. "That's useless!"
He looked at ease when he made the comment.
When Darryl put the brain-eating worms into Marshall's wine glass, he had also put in a truth pill. As the name suggested, the Truth Pill would make the person who ingested it answer any questions truthfully.
In the Infinite Elixir Manual, the Truth Pill was originally a pill used to tease people, and it was only effective for not more than ten minutes. It was not a premium type of pill, but it was most suited against Marshall at that instance.
'What?'
Marshall was shocked. Then, he sneered and retorted, "Darren, don't you try to fool me, I—"
Halfway through, Marshall felt that his mind went completely blank and bewildered.
Darryl knew that the Truth Pill had begun to kick in, and he immediately asked out loud, "Marshall, did you plot against me last night so that you could feed me the brain-eating worms?"
"Yes!" Cold sweat beaded on Marshall as he responded subconsciously.
The expression on Marshall's face was quite interesting to watch when he confessed the truth.
'What happened? Why did I admit it?'
All of a sudden, Marshall panicked. He wanted to deny what he did to Darryl the night before, but his mouth seemed to be going against his will.
A faint grin broke across Darryl's face when he heard Marshall; he was excited.
