Thea quickly glanced at Grady. "But then again, this situation has nothing to do with you."
Grady nodded and chuckled. "Well, even if it has nothing to do with me, I can’t sit back and watch you sneak around the Damien family manor in the middle of the night. I have to be responsible for the security of Pearl City.”
He kept his gaze on Thea the entire time he spoke and would not spare a glance at Darryl. Grady thought the man looked ordinary from his casual outfit and did not appear to be very powerful. He assumed Darryl was Thea’s subordinate, so he did not pay him any attention.
Thea’s patience was wearing thin as she said coldly, “Grady, what do you want?”
Grady let out a sly smile and made himself clear. “How about this? Surrender yourself right now and go back with me to be investigated.”
“What if I don't surrender?” Thea replied indifferently, although she was a little shocked.
“Then, don’t blame me for being rude.” Grady smirked.
At that moment, Darryl, who had been indifferent to the whole situation, finally could not hold his tongue anymore.
“You’re a despicable person who’s just trying to show off. Who do you think you are?” he sneered.
He was not going to say anything, but he could not remain quiet when he noticed how arrogant Grady was behaving.
This infuriated Grady, making him lose his patience with inconsequential talk.
“Taken them both down!” he roared, pointing at Thea and Darryl.
Grady was the dignified McClaren Young Master, a knight of the Temple of Light and acting head of security for Pearl City. Of course, he would be enraged when he was belittled by a nobody.
