The Immortal Venerable Balman was about to say something, but Grunt beat him to it. "We all know you're very good friends with the Ghost Valley Sage, but I'm sure you won't beg for his life if you knew his attendant impersonated His Majesty. He would not hand him over and would not divulge his whereabouts either. The punishment for hiding a criminal is death. The Heavenly Thunderbolt is already considered as letting him off lightly."
The Immortal Venerable Balman was shocked when he heard that. It never crossed his mind that Darryl's crime would be so heavy and that he would be so lawless as to impersonate the Nine Heaven Emperor.
After a few seconds, he took a deep breath and said, "Ghost Valley Sage, why don't you just tell him where Darryl is?" He was feeling even more anxious than before. He knew that Darryl had gone to where the demons were held captive but felt it was not in his place to tell the others.
The Ghost Valley Sage smiled at him and said, "I know you have good intentions, but I've already made up my mind. No matter what, I won't tell them where he is."
The Immortal Venerable Sage's anxiety went up another notch. 'Why is he being so stubborn?' Then he continued to beg for his mercy. "Your Majesty, please give me a day. I will make the Ghost Valley Sage change his mind—"
The Nine Heaven Emperor interrupted him. "Immortal Venerable Balman, stop begging for his life. I've already given him many chances, so you can't blame me for what I'm about to do."
His face was cold as he pointed at the sky. Immediately, an explosion sounded, and a flash of purple lightning brushed the tip of the Nine Heaven Emperor's finger. Before anyone could react, they saw a hole appear in the dark clouds, and thousands of thunderbolts came crashing down from the spot.
Silence ensued. It was so quiet they could hear a pin drop. They turned to look at the Nine Heaven Emperor with awe and respect. However, the Immortal Venerable Balman had turned pale and was looking at the Ghost Valley Sage worriedly.
"Ghost Valley Sage, it's a shame you turned down my offer again and again. I will let the whole matter slide if you can endure these thousands of Heavenly Thunderbolts. If not, you'll have to come back with me for interrogation!" the Nine Heaven Emperor said arrogantly.
Immediately afterward, thousands of thunderbolts came crashing down on the Ghost Valley Sage. His face turned pale when he felt the terrifying force and discovered that all his escape routes had been blocked. In the blink of an eye, the thousands of thunderbolts landed squarely on him, which kicked up another dust storm for about a hundred miles.
The dust storm entirely covered the Ghost Valley Sage, and the Immortal Venerable flew up to the sky to get a better look at him. However, the dust was so thick that it was impossible to see anything.
